Also i never understood the rules on trading armor, i know yuo can't wear other peoples armor due to being customised but what about trading items to dye?

Try it and see. That is the only way to find out.

Just tested, and yes, you can. The item doesn't show up in the dye window (I tried Dervish boots on my rit. Not sure what would happen if you tried dying customised armour to a character of the same profession), and the dye window showed bare feet. However, you can still add dyes and apply it, and it will change the colour.

Wonder how long it'll take for the "Pink Dye Service" scammers to show up after Rosa leaves:
1. Announce the service for xxx amount of gold/plat.
2. Find sucker to give you all his/her armor to be dyed and have him/her trade it to you for dying.
3. Disappear with their armor, Salvage their runes (superior vigor? cha-ching!), inscriptions, and whatever mats (ectos from obby... ooohhh) you can get.
4. ???
5. Profit.
It sucks that this will happen, and it sucks that people will fall for it.

The NPC will be here until the end of the month. And possibly will return next year. Meanwhile if you want someone to dye your items, you might want to ask a trusted friend (and not someone who would think it funny to destroy the item).

Yeah that will probably happen. Even if people dont run with armor from someone else, im sure they will charge stupid prices, like 5k per piece or something like that.

Ideally people will have trustworthy friends willing to do the dye service for them [for free] -- or barring that, I suppose you could always ask for collateral as a precaution.
What if Anet made it so that you can't salvage armor unless it's customized to you?

Might work, personally i would opt for adding the dye itself to the normal trader after the event is over, since the pink dye now has different attributes, it would not be possible to sell them back to the trader for huge profit.

This new dye is clearly one of ANet's best moves in a while. I was kind of skeptical of it at first, but it grows on you fast. It looks fantastic on my mesmer's Elite Canthan armor and my ritualist's Ancient armor (both female characters). I'll buy some more vials.

I just realized this morning that my pre character can't get pink dye.

The color intensity on some armors is wicked, really cool.
